Lid, Daisy Wheel Question?
« on: December 10, 2012, 04:27:53 AM »
So on Saturday it was a beautiful sunny 35 degrees. I had a spare moment and grabbed a bucket of hot soapy water to clean
the lid of my new Lime purchase. It appears it has a bad stamp on the daisy whee. Your thoughts?

Greg

Daisy wheel

Less than 24 hours later, and plowed once...

"we have an example of a 1977 Black kettle here on WKC in another post that has the earlier engraved logo and smaller turn-tab."

^^^^^^^^^^^
The above is an excerpt from disscussions in the "Vent Code Dates" thread.....

It would probably be a '77 or '78, but I can't rightly remember exactly when the wording changed from 'Bar-B-Q-Kettle'

1979, I think is when the word 'Weber' changed to the embossed ( raised ) lettering

Thanks Buckie! I should have explained myself better. See that the "W" in Weber does not appear? Then to the left of the "W" and
above it are very faint.  I'm thinking this wheel did not go through the stamping correctly.

An Eber is my other favorite kind of kettle ;)  I also like the Ber kettles, but I've only seen one of those.

My first... Probably not as rare as 1909 SVDB penny... ;)
