OTG and 26.75 handle redesign.
« on: December 09, 2012, 01:35:03 PM »
I was thumbing through one of my Weber apps on my iPhone and I noticed that the One Touch Gold and the 26.75's now have tool hooks integrated into the bowl handles. Has anyone else seen these? The 'Silvers still show the standard dark grey handles. Is this new for 2013? On another note, still no heat shields pictured on the 18 & 22 lid handles.

The tool hooks in the handle are new for 2013. Also, a built in thermometer in the lid is now standard for the 22.5 Gold kettle. The 18.5 Gold has been discontinued.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Seems to me that Weber would want to make more money on selling tool holders. BTW, I like the woodies the way the'yre cut and shaped.  ;D

The new handles look like they have horns. Like a steere.

I would think the little horns would break off it they were done in wood.  Tough to get wood to maintain much strength across the grain like that.  Sure would *look* pretty, though!

The horns wouldn't look vintage anyways. I would rather Brian just made a handle to fit the new style detachable handles since they are the direction weber is headed.

I believe my handles would fit on the new style handles.  I think Hogsy tried one on his new style smokey and it fit.  Also I do agree with Mike that it would be tough to put the extreme notches in the handle.  I could prob put some kind of slight notch.  However my handles are really for the vintage look.  If anyone wants anything special I am more than willing to work with them.  Just let me know what your thinking....

Here's the pic that Hogsy shared sometime back. Hogsy, I hope you don't mind that I borrowed your picture.  It wears the wood handle well, I think.

That handles off an old SJG. It fit well and looks the part but it didn't lock the lid down tight
New handle should arrive soon and I'll post some pics when it does
Would you like to see it on the Blue Wave or the Lemon Grass SJG? ;D
