Weber literature at one point included the notion that you could cook indoors.  Different times, to be sure.

The 1958 brochure says that too. They MIGHT have been referring to the "Weber Fireplace" but then again, backyard BBQ was still in its infancy back in the late 1950s.. I can imagine someone lighting their grill out back in the winter then rolling it inside the screen porch or garage after a while...

I think they referred to using the standard kettle inside the fireplace - maybe without the legs.
