You could always just buy an 18" ash-can and ring from Weber, then find a decent used 18er on CL.

That's what I did:  (It was much cheaper)

(Don't worry, better handles are "on the way"....)  :-*
Interested in ANY offset handle SJs you may have.

ace has 18" OTG?

There's an ACE near me that has the floor model still available. Don't know if they have any boxed up or not, though.

Hey, LB. Sure, go for it! I really enjoy cooking on my 18" kettles but mine are modded to compliment my 22's (midget OTG and MT mod). You'll spend $30 for the ash catcher alone so I think it's time/$ well spent. If you decide you don't like it, just sell it off. I'm sure the few dollars you'll lose doing that will be worth of fun of using it and getting what you want. But yes, buying an 18.5" ots kettle from CL and adding a OTG pot to it would be cheaper but the heart wants what it wants. :)

He said OTG... Not OTG REDNECK!  Lol.. My everyday 22 has a bucket under it.. I hate dumping ash..

FYI, I didn't know they still made or sold new 18" OTG's?   8)

They haven't made these in a couple of years, this is part of my salivating over this.  I spoke to the guys at ACE and they said it must have been in their warehouse.

I like the 18 because it fits so nicely in the back of my van, I can take it places really easy.  I have several grills I know that a 22 is more practical but I do have 3 of them (1 will be on sale due to this purchase) I also have a Kamado, Q200 and a Mini WSM Smokey Joe so I have plenty of grilling tools.  This just makes my family more diverse.  I have convinced myself to pull the trigger on the way home from work today.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Yep.  The only regret I had about my 18 OTG was getting rid of it.  Made the perfect camping rig especially when stubbified.  Enclosed ash catcher FTW!
