EOST 14
« on: September 19, 2014, 02:17:29 PM »
Golly and I had our End of Season Trip(EOST) for our football team last weekend. 20+ guys camping for 4days on the banks of Lake Macquarie( Australia's largest Lake). As usual Golly and I catered for the weekend, feeding the boys Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner for the weekend.
It didn't take long for the local wildlife to move in once we started setting up

Our cooking arsenal for the weekend consisted of the Ranch, 26er, 22 Cado and a Blue MT.
Dinner for the first night was Golly's award winning chicken served with prawns. It turned out great and as usual there were no leftovers

Breakfast for the weekend consisted of the usual Aussie fare. Bacon, eggs, sausages and mushrooms served with sour dough rolls
Getting a start on breakfast

For lunch we had wings, marinated 3 ways that lasted about 5mins once they left the grill hence the lack of pics.
For Dinner that night we had a 20kg/44lb whole lamb cooked Greek style on the Ranch Roti.
After doing a 15kg/33lbs suckling pig last year we thought we would try something different and I have to say the lamb was the winner!!! And we will definitely be doing it again soon.
We coated the lamb in lemon juice and rubbed the skin down with oil and salt then we filled the cavity with lemon, garlic, onions and salt and sowed it up. We smoked it rosemary and banksia and basted with garlic, rosemary and oil using rosemary branches. We served it with mushroom and muscat gravy and had a Cous Cous salad as a side
The lamb on the roti

3hrs later

The boys were hungry and ready to eat

This is as close as I got to a plated pic

Dinner for the last night consisted of 12kg/26lbs rolled pork served with Apple sauce and corn on the cob and jacket potatoes. With the food being eaten so quick there was no time for plated shots
The boys prepping the pork

3hrs later

So it was another great weekend filled with poker , beer pong and table tennis comps, golf tennis and cricket and plenty of drinking and eating with good friends

@1buckie I'm not an energy drink drinker but some of the boys enjoyed it with Jaegermeister or vodka. I must say it was red bull zero, so I guess there slowing down a bit

Yes he was in the thick of it for sure.... Except for when he was sleeping of the hangover from the night before
He also took great delight in wrapping, graffittiing and tying down anyone who fell asleep around the fire

Fantastic time and great cooks.
That's right argentflame, it's a bit of effort but at the end of the day everyone enjoys getting in and giving a hand. And it doesn't get much better than good food and good brews and hanging out with your buddies,
We've also had a few kettle converts over the 3yrs we've been going away which is always a good thing

I would but apparently everything is PC, PG and kid friendly
Apparently no adults use this site.... Or cannot handle material that's strictly not for 5 and under
