Early 70s Gas Kettle Cookbook
« on: May 25, 2014, 09:49:21 AM »
Very cool little book that includes full operation instructions for the gas kettle and 50 or more recipes including a version of Webers own BBQ Sauce which I'm personally excited to try.

The book is not dated , I think it came with the gas kettle because it gets very detailed about using one . Narrowing down the date I know that the gas kettle came out in 1971 and I know that the cookbook being offered in the back was introduced in 1973 . There is also a mail in offer inside  with the Arlington Heights address and we know Weber moved to Palentine in 1977 so its reasonable to date this to between 1973-1977.

Very cool!

This is very similar to the little recipe book found in the bottom of a performer charcoal bin. Also Arlington Heights, $0.50, and has the $4.99 cookbook advertised but mine notes a copyright of 1973. Cant be too far off..
