Do the 26.75" legs and triangle fit on a 22.5"?
« on: May 18, 2014, 01:07:49 PM »
I'm 6'4" and looking to raise my kettles a few inches without having to build something from scratch; I'm curious as to whether the legs are longer on a 26.75 and if the can be used on the 22.5 as is, or if I would need to use the 22.5 wheels and triangle.  Any input wpuld be appreciated....

I can't locate the discussions by search, but people have had this conversation before, including folks running outside to measure the lengths of legs......I recall, maybe, my buddy Mark (MacEggs, from Canada, who is also tall) and a few others talking about this......I'll hope the people who remember chime in here...............

I recall another member who was about your height and raised his kettle by just buying some shower rods. I don't think the 26'r legs will make much difference and I don't think the 26'r triangle will fit anyways. Is this tall enough for you? :D

Duke maybe it's an optical illusion but how does that work? The kettle on the left looks like the leg angles are narrower, to allow retention of the same triangle down low, but that would mean the leg sockets are also angled/positioned more closed-in.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

The legs are a little longer for a 26er.
I used them and the triangle on a 22". It raised it some, but, not much.
If I had 8" wheels, it would have been nice.

I think the older style 26" triangle would fit, but as I recall, the 2008-present ones won't work without bending the sockets. Shaun or Brian, correct me if I'm wrong...
