Spit Roast Chicken
« on: October 24, 2013, 09:30:40 PM »
Hello friends, after the failure of the first time yesterday I tried again and I did spit roast chicken with the rotisserie kit weber. The chicken weighed 5.5 lb and I did not brine, marinade or injections but I only applied a rub with Provencal herbs in the cavity and I put a bunch of rosemary, thyme and marjoram. I started 40 briquettes and divided in the two fire point and roast for 75 minutes until the chest was at 170 * F and golden brown skin. The chicken was a rare goodness, crispy skin in all its parts, thighs were delicious and chest really soft and juicy .. the best chicken I've ever eaten! The rotisserie kit made really to the difference ..

BBQ are never enough

That looks great! I just did the first cook on my rotisserie a couple days ago (though I have used it on a propane grill several times.) I did not think to put any herbs in the cavity (though I have fresh rosemary, sage, thyme, parsley and more in my garden.  ::) ) Next time I will for sure!
