Okay, okay, I know that this forum was particularly designed for those who like to collect a number of Webers.  Be they Kettles, Joes, Gassers, whatever.

I am not in that group.  I am semi-retired and live full time in 38' Motor Coach in a Camperhood.  I really only have room for one Weber.  Several years ago I located a 2002 Weber One Touch Platinum on Craigslist.  It was only $50 and it came with a set of GrillGrates and a SnS ! ! !  It isn't pretty but it's damn good cooker.

My quandary is that, at my daughter's house, I have my Weber 26er just sitting there gathering dust.  I would use it up there from time to time, but since the birth of my grandson, that really hasn't happened.  The timing just hasn't been working and most of the time I end up using my S-i-L's gasser with it's own set of GrillGrates.

I've looked at several historical builds of 26" Performers and all of the ones that I read involved, basically building a new cart.  Well, frankly, that is way beyond my skill level if wasn't beyond what I have, tool-wise, at my disposal.

So, my final question is this, is it possible to simply swap out the two bowls?  I know the 26er would have to sit higher, but I don't know that it would be that big a deal.

Not even 100% sure that I would do it even if it is possible because, for my own personal use, the only real reason for needing that additional space is if I were to decide to cook a brisket.  I know that I could do it on  my current rig, but I've also got the 26er set up with a BBQ Guru.

Anyway, I respect what you guys think and would like to her what you think.

Thanks, in advance.

I've seen it done quite a few times. Like you say I think it just sits higher.

Have a read of this, you can buy the brackets via a link on this thread too

I've considered doing one of these - back when I found a great deal on a 26" with a Carolina Squat issue....  Decided to pass it on down the line though.  Just can't say I like the look of the above example and does seem like it might be a bit high for me.  There was someone on here and FB that did a mini ranch with a 26" bowl and custom frame that was way cool.  Beyond my skillset or want of project lol...

Thanks, Tommie, for the link.  I'm going to have to mull this over.  Like Bama, it sits a little higher than I thought it would.

Agreed it does. I saw someone that modified the table but it meant widening the cross bars and making their own custom worktop. A fun project if you can be bothered, but also pretty time consuming!

If anyone is interested in plans for this table based on the 22", DM me, and I can forward them to you. This re-work pictured is for a 26". I just ordered those brackets mentioned on Reddit, but I think I will need to use some heat-resistant gasket to protect the wood from the metal-to-metal heat. Right now, the handle and the lid hinge (also from Unknown BBQ) are the only parts contacting the wood tabletop.
