I have been cooking on my gas Weber Grills for the past 30+ years. I have not cooked on a charcoal Weber Kettle in 35+ years. (Except that one time we rented a house that had a Weber Kettle). I have now inherited a Vintage 1969 Weber Statesman with Side Table and Rotisserie Ring. Question: Do I try to use this gorgeous kettle or turn it over to a charcoal aficionado?
BTW: This group appears awesome

Welcome from Huntsville, Alabama. Sounds like you have a golden opportunity to learn on a classic beauty. Try it out and see how you like it, you won't hurt it. Take care of it and share pictures of your cooks here!

Welcome from Doraville, Ga. I say give it a try, if you don't like it I'm sure you could sell it.

Welcome from Rome, GA. I grew up in northern NJ. Go ahead and cook on the kettle a few times and then decide if you want to keep or sell it. A vintage redhead will sell, but It never hurts to have both a charcoal grill and a gasser.
