Great write and pictures as always!

That's what Bbq is all about right der, friends, family and food. Looks like you handled one of the most difficult/tedious cooks of all very well!

@FatBottomGrills thanks!  Honestly it was a blast, and not as difficult as I imagined, as I didn't have to do any defrosting.  But yes, you summed up what I believe BBQ is all about, and why I'll never do any competitions (although if that's your thing, and you enjoy it go ahead!).  It's about sharing with others and bringing people together.

Amen! Yeah, not having to defrost is very helpful. Super rad that they processed your pig while you were waiting. I'm inspired, I should build a cinder block pit this spring and cook a whole squealer too.  In the meantime.. Cheers and carry on

Awesome job! Man, that looks REALLY good. I'll need to a pig roast myself one of these days! Quick Question, just out of sheer curiosity, how the heck did you manage to find one of the old 50's flat top Motherships? I've only seen one, maybe two for sale tops.
I think I might need a bigger backyard soon...
