Ranch kettle cook
« on: July 02, 2013, 09:34:53 PM »
I'm cooking for my bday bbq in a few weeks. Anyone have some tips on setting up an rk for ribs? I won't have a charcoal ring to contain the fire. Should I minion in a pile, or snake? Last time I snaked it 2 wide and 2 deep (4 briquette cross section) it ran too cool. I'm gonna go for 6 racks at once :) thanks!

You might be able to set up like this:

Sort of a Minion chain, both sides, opposite directions..................

Don't know what size your ribs are, but this works good, having the meat in the middle & rotating the grate a bit, maybe twice during the cook.....just use more coal....bigger cooker.....gotta play with it more..... 8)

    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!
