This might clear things up a bit. I refer to the legged version with the coal-holding flat top as a "camp oven".

Camp ovens are not so good on the kettle as the legs get hung up in the grates. Ask me how I know.

And not entirely chili-related, but I did a superbe smoked sloppy joe at a Mid-Atlantic meetup using a DO on the grill with Buffalo and Chorizo. I'll see if I have the recipe somewhere, presuming I didn't make it up as I went.

@56MPG  I have a lodge camp oven and some regular dutch ovens, I found out the hard about the feet on the grate so I got a steel plate that I use now, thanks John
