Picked up a new WSM.  I think it is going to work well.  Fits my custom SSP and my CB reversable roti fits well.

Why does the 22" have two lid handles and the 18 and 14 only have one?

You'd think with the front lid handle, they would include a lid hinge.

Does the weight of an open lid on a hinge tip the mid section over?  It seems that it might move the center of gravity too far off-center.

Now for a CB door and a Hunsaker vortex.  Do I need a CB fire ring?

I think you need a ladder. Man that thing looks like it's as tall as your roof.

It's surprisingly not tall, or I should say it looks like it will be easily workable, without the Roti.  The roti is certainly high, I would use it with the WSM bowl, on the ground, for sure.

I do like the look of that 22 on the SSP.
I have the CB Fire ring for the 18 and it comes in handy for the long cooks and I really like how it connects to the charcoal grate so everything pulls out together.
I think the question for your 22 is how long of cooks will you be doing and if you need the extra room for more coals for those long cooks.  Also check and see if the bigger diameter CB ring will have to have modified and have some bolts added to support the Hunsaker Vortex so it doesn't drop into the coals.

Also, I'm just curious, why are wsm grate straps bolted on and not welded like a kettle?  Both my 18" and 22" wsm have bolt on straps. None of my kettles do.

I am looking for a Cajun bandit 22 roti ring but they won't sell me just the ring (I have an 18.5 and don't need another motor etc). Can Clubchapin or some who has a 22 CB roti ring please tell me how high it is?

Since the straps on a WSM are flat and don't have to fit the contour of a bowl, I would imagine they did that to save a little money, but that is a guess.

As a bonus, they pretty much never fall off because of rust.

It's nice the are bolt on for the guys that use hinges and different straps and bolt on outside handles.

About 6", including a ~7/16" lip.

I don't think the motor adds much to the cost, and it can be nice to have a spare.

I take that back, just priced these.  Seems like it might be worth their while to sell without a motor/spit.
