Picked up an Old Master Touch

As is typical for me, picked up another black grill. But I’m not complaining. It’s an old Master Touch in really nice shape, based on the quick look I was able to give it. Threw it in my car during lunch and headed right back to work. Can’t wait to get it cleaned up. Shouldn’t take much. The lady I bought it from said it was barely used and garage kept. I believe it. It also came with an awesome older Weber cover. I love the logo and the rubbery feel on these old covers. I’ve posted the pics off the Facebook ad, but I’ll post more of my own when I get a chance.

I like that one a lot!
I cant decide if I like the thermometer in the center, like this one, or off to one side like mine. Both have their own benefits IMO.

All this time I never noticed the lip bevel angle on the older lids until I saw this picture.

I just walked outside. My '92 is like that, but my '97 is like the current lids: flatter (closer to parallel with the ground) at the lip. That explains why I can never seem to get the lid on the '92 to fully meet the bowl without wiggling it around some.

That’s a sharp looking black! Congrats man. The MT’s are quickly growing on me. I’ve been eye balling a black mt in the wild for a while now that the ash pan is hanging off. Trying to work up the nerve to cold call.

Didn’t realize it but the lid is different.  Definitely needs a bit of a wiggle to get the lid on snug. Plan on cleaning up a bit more but after just a quick wipe down l’m very pleased with the condition. The porcelain is in great shape. No rust by the handles or thermo.   BTW It’s an “O” 1992. Pictures show a little bit of lint from the cloth I wiped it down with but the porcelain is awesome. So are the ash bucket, base and and wheels. Pretty happy with this score. Stashed it in with the rest and of the herd. My wife will never notice. [emoji14]
