Thermometer replacement
« on: March 12, 2018, 06:49:52 AM »
I've seen great threads on adding a weber thermo and bezel when a grill/smoker doesn't have one.

I want to replace the thermometer on a 22" WSM I just picked up. It's stuck around 200 and will jump to 250 when running.

Is there a suitable/better replacement? I have digital thermometers but sometimes you want a simple cook and use the lid thermo as an order of magnitude or understand how far off it is from grate temp.

I hear they made a good product. Maybe I'll be a cheap skate and use my oven thermometer on the grate or a candy thermometer in the vent. Might be worth asking Weber if they'd replace it..

Tel-Tru is top notch. I own two, and love them.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.
