My First Genesis 2000 Refurb Grille
« on: November 07, 2017, 07:54:44 PM »
I have been searching for an older Weber Genesis 2000 to purchase and bring back to its glory. I found this 1985 Weber Genesis 2000 for sale via FB Marketplace for $25.00. I couldn't pass it up. I made the 2 hour drive and snatched it up. As you can see...she has some rust to the frame but it doesn't look like anything that can't be corrected. I can't wait to see the final project.  Let me know your thoughts,tips, and tricks.

These frames are very stout. All of the joints are welded so there are no star nuts to get rusty and loose.
I was able to sand and refinish the wood on mine, but it would be easy to replace it if needed.
Your box and lid look to be in good shape.
How are your internal parts;
burners, grates, Flavorizer bars, etc?

@AZogas, here's the answer we were looking for!

I know nothing about restoring them but they sure are classy and it looks from my uninformed eye that you picked a nice one to get started on.
