Vortex Wing Recipie Wanted
« on: February 19, 2017, 07:02:05 AM »
Need the recipe for Voetex chicken wings.  I had it but can't find.  Part of the recipe was to pat wings dry, dust with cornstarch and put in fridge for several hours to season.  Can anyone help?

Sounds like you got the idea. I use a hooters wing knock off recipe which consists of.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
20 chicken wing segments

I roll the patted dry wings in the mixture above then to the fridge for 2-4 hours or over night.

You can add corn starch to the flour if you'd like.

Do you guys leave all the skin on or do you trim them up?

I leave the skin on that helps seal the moisture in the meat. I do cut the wings up (segment them).

I go real simple
Dust with creole seasoning right from the package, straight onto the grill
Flip at half an hour, and pull off 30 minutes later. Hour total cooking time
Toss in your favorite hot sauce
Works every time
Oh yeah, I use whole wings no trimming
