Thanks it's a pre-2002 silver b I believe it maybe 99 or 2000 year. I picked it up for free on CL. Upon inspection found a crack on cookbox I called weber cs and they sent me a new cookbox under warranty. They are awesome.

What an awesome job.  It looks brand new.  And that is a great grill.  I had a 2004 Silver B.

Great job! I'm getting ready to start a restore on a Silver B myself and might be tossing a few questions your way. I'll start with what kind of paint did you use to paint the sides of the lid? Did you sand down to bare metal or just scuff it up good? Thanks.

Looks great.👏
Just finished restoring one like it. I used Rust Oleum high heat ultra on my cookbox and lid castings. Scotch brite and a lot of soap for cookbox prep. I cured paint by running grill 3 times all burners on high for about 30 minutes. Allowing to cool overnight in between. I have cooked 10 times or so and the paint is still looking good.

searching for 2 18" straight lip twist ash pans.

Thanks dudes!
I just cleaned and washed with dish washing soap and a pad. No scuffing it will leave marks on end covers and cookbox. I used high heat flat black on cookbox and end covers. The frame I sanded and painted high heat gloss black.
