I found a "B"('80) 22" kettle on CL and picked it up today, it is in pretty good shape.  It is the same grey as my older 18".

Now on to the questions, when did they change from metal handles on the bowl, did they have the ash catcher clips with the twist on type?  The wheels are plastic w/whitewalls.  The charcoal grate is sunken towards the center don't think that's factory ::)  it also has the basket style tray for the tools.

Missed out on a "C" SMJ that was in great shape, it had a Ducks Unlimited engraved handle, however i had no extra money (had to use my "allowance" money) and he wanted what he had in it :'(

Nice looking '80!  8) This was the final year that they did the metal handles on the bowl. They switched over to all wood for 1981 (C). As for the ash catcher, I have seen the 80s twist pans ('79-'86 pans with the rolled edge) having the clips with them. Not sure why they included them, the older flat edge twist pans ('64ish-'78) ones didn't have them. The wheels are the correct ones also. As for your charcoal grate, not sure without seeing it.
