What is everyone using?  I'm looking for ideas other than a clay saucer. Mine cracked and I would like to figure out something better.

I used an old 18" ash pan that I found on the side of the road.
I flattened it out a bit so it doesn't touch the coals

Source a piece of plate steel from you local metal working or weld shop.  It'll last forever.

I'm still tempted to cut the handle off of a spare cast iron skillet.

I use a pizza pan and it works great.  $8 on Amazon

I've done that in the past, works just fine.

I'm using a round SS serving tray. Works fine.

I'm not familiar with that smoker so any specific diameter & height of deflector you're looking for?

It's a tamale pot in an sj. I believe 12" is ideal for the deflector but I'll have to double check.

These are 12" bowls from Costco for under $2. It's 3 1/2" high so if it's not too high then it should work. If you don't add water, use 2 of them. Put ash on the bottom bowl  to act as a buffer so the the oil drippings doesn't burn and smoke.

Yeah, but it's not as efficient as the Cajun Bandit
