Cabin sirloin
« on: May 06, 2018, 06:25:12 PM »
A sirloin sounded good on this cabin trip.  We are under a high fire alert, so I made a resting spot for the chimney.  I was just about to put the screen door back on for the season, when a bird flew in.  We have lots of migrant birds stopping at our feeders.  After a brief window to window chase, I finally got my hands on it and sent it on its way.  The bird book said this one is a white-throated sparrow.  The landfill is on the way, so I stopped to check the free reuse area for kettles.  I only found one gasser, but did score this old school crock pot with a glass lid.  It cleaned up nicely, and heats just fine.  Another handy cooking option to have up there.  Thanks for looking.

(yes I read the text also)
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

What marinade did you used on the Sparrow before it went in the crock?
