Looks good to me. I do my wings the same way, with the baskets. You can hear the skin crunch. I don't see a need for a vortex.

Yeah man, I do them like this all the time. This was just the first time I tried lump. Seemed to cook just the same for the most part. The lump looks and sounds a lot cooler in the chimney. Blue fire and has crackle and sparks. Also makes the chimney glow red. Almost worth it just for my own entertainment getting the grill going.

I did change my recipe this time. I marinated in a mix of franks and olive oil. Then dusted with a rub. Family said they were my best yet but they always say that. They love wings lol. You do need to flip if you marinate.
