Oaktown Throwdown - August 20

Have any of you been before?  The BBQ contest http://artandsouloakland.com/food.htm is part of the larger Art + Soul Festival.  http://artandsouloakland.com/  Our team is hoping to be selected to compete in the "Backyard" division.

Hey Nor-Cals.  We'll be in DTO next Saturday.  We're competing in pork ribs, tri tip, chicken and dessert.

@Stu Clary- You only going to be there on Saturday Stu?  I read on the event page it is on both Saturday and Sunday.  I have a commitment on Saturday but could make it Sunday.

Hi @Cellar2ful. The Art + Soul Festival is Sat/Sun, but the Oaktown Throwdown BBQ competition is Saturday only.

Wow, what a really well-run event!  We had a blast.  Our team, The Fat Guys, competed in the Backyard division.  We weren't happy with our rib turn in, and that showed in the results, but we placed 1st in chicken (!) and took 4th in tri-tip.  Great day, fun times!
