On special request from my seven year old daughter I did meatloaf on my performer.  Although I've done this meatloaf several other times, this is the first time I cooked it on a BBQ.

Setup was lump in a single basket partitioned from cook zone with fire bricks and foil on the charcoal grate beneath the cook zone.  Setup was perfect with both vents fully opened to achieve the desired 350f.

Doesn't look real different but here's the finished product.

Not sure if you can tell but this meatloaf is incredibly juicy, nothing like the meatloaf I had to force down when I was a kid.

I added a handful of maple wood chips.  I was going for a very light no over powering smoke and I got it bang on!

Sorry no plate shot, forgot in the wife-less mayhem at the dinner table but it was well devoured.

Thanks.  It sure does help when the kids love what you cook.

I love meatloaf on the grill.  I prefer to place mine directly on the cooking grate and place a drip pan down below.  It allows all of the fat to drain away and you get an awesome outer crust to cut through.

I did think of that however this recipe I supper moist and would most likely not sit on a grill too well.
