I have thought if you could find a good deal that one of those carts, it would work great for a built in table. Looks like they cut a hole in the lid for a pizza oven.
I keep looking for a reasonable priced table like that but the search continues..
"my kettle is more powerful it will do almost anything."

It looks clean until you zoom and see the L brackets. No need to reinvent the SS performer.
-
I'm trying to figure out why wouldn't you just buy a performer?
-
I'm all for DIY but I'm with Brian and Eric on this one. It looks worse than a performer for marginal or less(?) utility.

At 35" tall it provides higher work and grilling surfaces (more like a normal counter top height), which I think is a big plus. Factor in the difficulty in finding a stainless steel performer in many areas and I see it as an reasonable alternative. The wheels don't seem conducive to non-paved outdoor spaces though.

Isn't a performer like 32 or 33" inches tall? Even if you can't get a stainless you can get the new one..... How much is that table? How do you cut a nice hole in the top? If you don't cut it beautiful it will look like a hack job. What keeps the grill in place just the handles? Seems like it would rock in place if you didn't bolt it down somehow. I think we are trying to reinvent the wheel, with no new advantage....

I would do this to table I got at a yard sale or a table I got for free. But hey if it makes the guy happy good for him.
