Title: Hello WKC members
Post by: GarageCat82 on November 23, 2020, 08:10:31 AM
Glad to know there are others like myself. My name is Eriks from the little state of Delaware. I am a Chef and cook on commercial equipment all night, but nothing is more satisfying then using charcoal and wood in the backyard. My passion for these kettles started this year when Weber came out with the new colors and it went from there. Now I find myself looking everywhere for older kettles online and while driving.

My "daily drivers" are the Glen Blue 26 and the 22" smokey mountain for the slow cooks.  I use an abused ivory 22" for my high heat cooks and keep it out in the elements. I have about 15 grills (some just bought and left in the box) and like the rest of you, caught the bug. Hope to see some amazing grills here and learn more about the club.

Cheers.

Welcome from Huntsville, Alabama!  Nice looking group you've got there...And I must say for an "abused" Ivory 22", it looks fantastic!  I look forward to seeing some future cooks from you on those nice kettles (and WSM!)

Welcome.  You definitely caught Weberitis for which the only known cure are more Webers.

The Ivory grill that is kept outside is a Frankenstein of a grill. Not the one in the picture. Leg extensions with conduit, performer lid bale and handle bolted back on are just a few of the modifications. I think it also has wheels from a genesis gas grill. Just my high temp grill that can burn like a champ.
