Hello,
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona (Bear Down) and moved to Gainesville, Florida in 2009.
I’ve been cooking and smoking on Weber Kettles since 1986.
Several months ago, the wife wanted to buy gas grill. Having never used a gas grill or owned one. I search the internet and found WKC. Long story short I found a 2004 Genesis silver two burner grill for $25 on CL, it was a four-hour round trip. Now the wife has a like new gas grill, she’s a happy griller.
Current Weber collection:
22” Black 1978 (excellent condition)
22” Black Uline (less than a year old)
18” Black (18 months old)
22” Blue “C” (curb find, I used it for many years as my daily grill. It’s now a rehab project)
22” Black “DE” (currently a fire pit on 6” legs)
22” Black “DA” (project or parts kettle)
22” Red “C” (I purchased this Red Kettle a few weeks ago, it’s in great shape for a “C”
14” Smokey Joe black
14” Smokey Joe black (nib)
18” WSM “DA”
22” WSM “AA”
Cheers,
Robert

Hello and welcome. Nice looking family. I spent many unproductive years in Gainesville!
Hard to tell from photos but the blue C code is pretty rare if it has double rivet bowl handles.

Were the unproductive years spent at UF ?
Blue C bowl handles are a single screw and lid is double rivet.
I see you recently moved from Jax to Ashville, NC, wow you have a nice collection of weber kettles.

Welcome Robert.
I've bought 3 gassers. One was a Thermos that I never used & eventually dragged out to the curb after it was sitting in the backyard for a decade or so. Last year, I bought a vintage Weber kettle gasser from another WKC member, but I haven't lit that one up either. I also have a couple of Performers with propane assist to light the coals, but I don't know if they work. I just keep using my charcoal chimney.
I was thinking of firing up the kettle up to cook a huge pot of red beans for my red beans & rice (just to keep the humidity out of the house).

Ha! Trust me, we see it all the time when people purchase grills from others. The thing is, once you see it, you can never un-see it and all of them stick out like a sore thumb! Check out the DEMO grill featured on the main WKC page - the legs are off there too (folks here call it "caddywampus"). Not sure how that could have happened with an original demo grill!
