Gas-assist to air assist conversion. Trial run with a bag of $2 royal oak briquettes just to get an idea how long it would last at 250F.

Love the creativity and fabrication work.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Weber Kettle Club mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=91018)

That is pretty kick ass.
How long did it last?
In my experience, on a BGE (not my WSM or kettels), a fan assist is nice in holding steady temp, but I find it is less efficient in terms of charcoal usage.

Whether it works or not, it looks really cool!

Grab an old Goodwill hairdryer for $2.99.
Does the same job.
Have had the same one for almost 20 years.
That said, absolutely love the fabrication!
Nice clean work. Way to go, Jules!

Not sure how a hair dryer would work for this application.

No verdict just yet. I just set it up then left for work.
Right about for 4 hour mark. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200315/20ffd544a27e4378ec97043f08eb23b4.jpg)

How do you like the Fireboard? The variable fan looks cool. Must be a big step in efficiency and a steadier temp than a 1 speed fan.

Club Chapin
So far Fireboard has been excellent. They're the only manufacturer that offers the type of probes that i need or want. They have 8 different versions of ambient probes and 3 versions of food probes. I use cable glands for food probes so it must be straight and not right angle. Especially like their thin food probes which comes in standard length and short version. The ambient probes comes in standard, short & long threaded 1/4" NPT and short 1/2" NPT. Ambient comes in RTD or thermistor version. Ended picking up 2 RTD and 2 thermistors.
Here's how some of the probes looks like.

Just checked out Fireboard website. What a great looking product and well tough out product line.
I think that will be my next wireless thermometer.

That's cause my ignorant dumb ass didn't fully understand purpose of the fabrications purpose.
I assumed you just wanted to goose the temps, not control them.
See what happens when you just scan a post instead of really reading it.
