I built one for 26 and 22 kettle usin left over Ipe decking material.

Looks awesome!

Can I ask, are you using the handles to support the weight or is the body of the kettle held up by the timber ring?

If the timber is holding the body, how does it go with all the heat?

The weight is supported by little L brackets.  You can see how I did it here on my YouTube channel.

I just built a double grill table and used Polyeurathane on the top that holds the grills. I'm a little concerned with the heat coming off the grill that it start a fire with the Polyeurathane. Have you had any issues as such? I am using 3 inch L brackets that keep the grill about 1.5 inches above the table with maybe a 3/4 to 1 inch clearance on the side of the kettles.

Short answer... I have had no issues with fire.
