Title: Something new coming to Weber 11/1
Post by: Transit98 on October 30, 2018, 02:29:49 PM
Got a Weber email presenting some type of new product launch kicking off Nov 1st. What do you think it is? Home food delivery?

Whatever it is, I hope it doesn’t cost anywhere near the price of a Summit. Probably couldn’t  swing a purchase like that again, without the wife having my ass.

It's probably the new, somewhat-funky-looking Master Touch with the spring-loaded 45 degree off-center hinge. There have been glimpses over the past few months. The features are kinda cool and borrows a little from the Summit (diffuser plate, P vents, hinge). However, I feel like it might turn out to be an "Edsel," rather than a "Corvette."

I'm really surprised this group doesn't already know. I guess they're doing a better job keeping R&D internal these days.
I bet it's something related to their gas grill product line. The photo is of a chop being cooked on s a gasser, so that might be a clue.

I believe it's the launch of a new range of Genesis configurations. There will be more choices between open cart / closed cart designs, and more affordable options that include side burners.

They posted this video on instagram the other day.  Looked like a gasser to me so I didnt pay much attention to it.  But now I have to wonder...

The 2019 Genesisi2 gasser. No big deal.
