It was a CL find that was practically down the street from me (2 miles away), being sold by the original owner.
The good:
good frame/bowl/lid
gas assist works
lid bale/wire shelf/charcoal bin all present
The bad:
The old ash sweeps were frozen and had to be cut off
The grates are pretty rusty (but I have a NIB Stok cast iron grate ready to go)
The propane tank is presumed to be the original and has the QC fitting
The cover is the original Weber unit and is pretty tattered
The stainless utility hooks are bent (but I have better ones from having parted out multiple Genesis gas grills)
I've read up on some of the previous threads to install the newer 7444 sweeps while retaining the old catcher, so I'll probably go that route.

nice score! Why are you including the original tank and the QC fitting in the bad column?

I guess I am being greedy and was hoping that the previous owner updated the tank, haha.
As I am leaning towards keeping this one, I am not opposed to updating the tank and regulator. I already have a propane regulator with a pretty short hose from a 2005 Weber Genesis Silver A that has the correct fitting to thread into the burner.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive about it, but I see no reason to assume that tank and regulator need replacing.

Any propane dealer has the adapter for the original tank. If it is out of date it can be recertified for a few bucks. Last one I had certified and filled cost about $15 total.

Interesting... I've now seen stories where the cost of the recertification is anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 the cost of a new tank, and stories where the recert cost was ~$5. I'll shop around, thanks!

*Disclaimer* - No SSP parts were harmed in this mod, and it is 100% reversible within minutes.
It turns out that the vertical panel on the right hand side for the 5 lb tank bracket looks *JUST* like the Genesis 1000-5000 tank scale panel minus the rollers for the 20 lb propane tank (the part number for the Genesis tank scale bracket is 85888). I happen to have a couple of 85888s lying around. I also happen to have a spare Genesis Silver tank scale (p/n 88214). This happened:

I didnt know that existed on the genesis....but I love it on the SSP. Even without the scale; just having a way to mount the larger tank seems like a nice option if you need it!

Ace Hardware stores near me had a promo this weekend where if you purchase a 5 gallon bucket for $5, you were donating to your local Children's Miracle Network Hospital and you'd get 20% off anything that would fit inside a bucket.
There was a store near me that actually had the 5-gallon Manchester tank in stock for $55 each before the 20% off(they had 2 in stock, actually), so I pulled the trigger on this.
The new tank will work with the original regulator if you change out the fitting to a QCC1 unit
