Was wondering if anyone had a kettle that's the same year you born?
Myself would need a mid 60s,which I don't see anytime soon.
Now if I could get one that was affordable, I wouldn't hesitate.
Any you fellas have one?

I have two 1978 kettles.

I'm looking for a black E code cooker. I don't NEED one...but it would be cool. I have found a few years pop up from time to time recently (mostly G's and H's) but have yet to find a cheap, faded E cooker.
BTW, I gifted my brother a faded black 22" G code (his birth year) recently. He loves it!

It is a physical impossibility for me to get a "birth year kettle". There are some who believe they are out there, but no true ones have been found (hint, I was born in 1982). From the website itself:
†: There are no true “D” code only kettles or WSMs known to exist. There are examples of 1981 “C” code Weber’s that have been seen with a small “D” stamped near or on the opposite side of the “C” stamp. These examples are believed to be the actual 1982 kettles and WSMs.

Probably time to update the site. I posted this way back in 2013. Here is the elusive D code. There are no "Cs" anywhere on the vents. The D is in an unusual position, but here is your birth year kettle.

I'm still SOL. Born in 56. I'll have to settle for a picture of one until karma kicks in. My only consolation was spending an hour in a private photo shoot with THE ORIGINAL 52. That was a beautiful day.

Yeah. The problem for us "Geezers" is that up to 1979 Webers weren't year specific. Typical dating procedures are based on changes to various details; tabs, vents, stampings... Sometimes we may have to just settle for something close.
