Title: Weber Accessory - Squirrel Guard
Post by: Neil_VT00 on April 07, 2017, 06:24:33 PM
I ran across a Weber accessory that I had never seen before and I had to have it.  No date on the box, but based on the style I would guess early 80s. The pictures pretty much tell the story...

The box:

These are the guard which is a SJ lid:

And the hanging hardware:

Not sure what my plans are for it, but if anyone has a Weber birdfeeder, I'm looking...

@Jocool, any interest in selling yours  ;D

this seems like something my grandpa would have had at one point or another. they have a hill behind the house and he had built a bird feeder village. even had a squirrel seat that had a corn coby stand

There is no living thing I hate more than squirrels. Kudos to Weber for aiding the fight. Brothers in arms!  >:(  ;D

PS- I'm sure the guard was a failure.

Thanks @Bob BQ. We'll see which one of us convinces the other to part with their Weber branded bird feeding item...

@Neil_VT00   @Bob BQ  I'll give you both $20 if you get together on this, fill the damn thing with seed, hang it up in a real tree and get a few pics with some real live birds and/or squirrels attacking it. Then you can put the pieces back in the boxes never to be seen again. C'mon! @Jeff is, to this date, the only one that gave us some great pics of a Galley Que on a real boat on real water. It's your turn!

Great idea… seeing as how the birdfeeder is Down Under with @Jocool  that might be a bit difficult.  ???

Are there even squirrels in Australia?

Ahh, that's why the Weber logo is upside down on the feeder.

Did they just take an SJ lid and drill one hole in it rather than two?  That's both funny and cool.  Nice find!
