Found this on Craigslist, talked myself out of it and posted it in the online finds section so another member could have a chance at it. After checking Craigslist the next day and seeing it was not gone yet I just could not help myself. Just got it home so pics are pre clean up. Will post more tomorrow after I have a chance to clean it up. M code on the vent so 1990?

Sweet. That's a beauty. One of my fav colors.
I have an SSP I am converting to castor-less like this one. I have a caster-less frame for it. It does not have anything on the bottom of the frame, where a castor would be.
Is there a foot or insert or anything?
Thanks.

Here is a quote from the WKC Weber Performer History article: "The gas-assist version had wheels on the left legs of the cart and castors on the right legs while the non-gas assist model only had wheels on the left legs. Its right legs were longer and did not include the castors."

The red excites me. What a classic. I don't care how many grills I had in my possession, if a redhead performer popped up around here I'd have to make a run at it.
Congratulations!

Thanks. That doesn't address what if anything is in place of the castors. I presume it is not just a raw square tube, which could damage a deck surface or be damaged be a cement surface. Is there a foot? Maybe the actor insert without the castor?
Is there a detail pic of the bottom of the tube?
-
Here are some pics of the bottom of one of the legs. These are just hollow tubes, no plug or feet instde. Not sure if this is 100% factory or not, things can fall out over 26 years.

Got her all cleaned up this morning too. Here are some before and after pics. Can't wait to cook on it, may have to wait a few days though.

And all washed down:

Did not get super crazy washing it up, gonna be cooking in it after all. Very surprised how good of shape it is in and super happy I pulled the trigger and bought it instead of passing it up.

Thank you. That seems unfinished to me, but good to know. I'll probably glue in some castor inserts without the castors.
That cleaned up really nicely. Should serve you well for a long time.
Does the bowl have a hole for a burner tube? If so, is it capped off?
-
No, no hole. Wish it was just plugged so I could add the gas assist without cutting into it but oh well.

The non gas assist performers did not have castors.
-
Gorgeous redhead.
-
The non gas SS Performers had a plug that sat almost flush to the bottom of the leg.

Any idea what that looks like? Is it similar to the castor insert, without the castor?
I presume it is not available.

Awesome cleanup. Red is my favorite kettle. The blue SSPs look nice also. No buyers remorse on this one.

I believe it's the same bar end cap they use on all the bar ends on Performers and Genesis grills. You can get them at the hardware store - my True Value has them in black. 1" standard bar cap.
-
That makes it easy. Thank you.

nice find, love to have one of those in my backyard one day.
