Finally started on the side table. I will build the entire table from pine and it will be 20x39 inches.(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/603fe0862a75baf1fe615e647b7d8f63.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/8153595e8d64a6cd3e59a59ad79b205c.jpg)

can't wait to see pics of the finished projects

Side table would be a great thing to have, can't wait to it finished!

Progress. Still need to cut out for the kettle, shorten the legs 3/4 of an inch, sand and stain.(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/b56db8f57878393408986d8eb98f10dd.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/f60ceea2bd5bd428fb120faf6678cc8d.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/e9366c5debdac94f54cecb5c6d5d093f.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/36070c4812dd0acc2ff299dc6f9d00a8.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/b71a006546369c70d4eb71160e989074.jpg)

Looking good, plus you have an interesting garage.
Geez, I had a lot of fun slot car racing.
And that's not a "work table", that is a "fun table."
-
Damn I wish I was handy.
-
It looks like this would be easy for you to prefab and ship in peices it you wanted to get a little "side" business going!!!
-
Funny my wife says .....you should build them and sell them.

While I am more than capable of building the same table, I don't have the tools I'd need to do it, so I would consider buying one from you. I would need to buy a circular saw (or a mitre saw) as well as a jig saw (to cut the bowl end of the top boards), so that would be around $150 just in tools. I suppose I could use handsaws, but that isn't as clean or fun! I just don't know how economical it would be to actually ship them. I do think you could ship them partially or entirely disassembled and most people would be able to screw it all together. If you did all of the cutting and hardware mounting and that was it, I would think it would be pretty easy to do it in stages where you could get a fairly efficient assembly method going.

Very nice work @Bigdave.

Time for stain

Great build!
I made a similar one over the summer, this is such a great fun project, and useful too. Can't wait to see it all stained up!
-
That looks grate, Bigdave! You're going to love using it! Looking forward to seeing the final product...
-
That is turning out very nice!
-
What clips onto the kettle? Is it something like a conduit holder or a re-purposed tool hook?
Really nice work!
-
Ur gonna get plenty of use out of that excellent table. I really love the size, rooooomy. SJ
-
Thanks guys I appreciate the comments. @austin87 if you take a peek at some of the first pics it kinda just snaps onto the handle. Even though it fits tight I am considering changing that up a bit to be more universal for the different types of hadles
-
Ahh now I see. I thought you were using the handle as a spacer for the gaps in the wood. Makes perfect sense, thanks!
-
Any idea what your total cost was to build this?
-
About $25.00 total and about 4 hours labor. She is finished and looks pretty good on the copper kettle(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/60881a20a555e8914e305fc07d6c0429.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/edf72cf6f21330d3734dbb661f46b993.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/fbde70a45c087efe0310eaba2cca2d65.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/4034c63184be9a5640be2ed1174a84f3.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/a5e0a2d9e33cd3088d21e4934ad2ace3.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/95d0f61a161b47e619e3624d03303b49.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/17/2fec43955cb936c72881052bb8ab736a.jpg)

Like I said on facebook, that stain looks really good with the copper kettle! Really nice job. I was thinking the total was going to come in closer to $50. You should definitely look into selling these...probably unstained so the buyer can figure out how they want to finish it.
Now onto the big questions...whatcha cooking? Doesn't look like a smoke from where you thermo is sitting!
-
Turkey!

Nice table.
-
Table and turkey look great!!!

That stain with the copper compliments it perfectly. The real estate you gain for short money is a total winner.
Jealous of your skill!
