Title: The colors of Weber
Post by: Winz on June 27, 2015, 06:38:49 AM
I happened across the local Weber setup at Lowes.  I can just imagine the Marketing manager at Weber:

"We can set up a display of all the cool colors for the Q1200 - purple, blue, green, orange, lavender, etc.  And then we can have a display of all the cool kettle colors offered in the U.S. - Black, Copper, Green, ...... Oh well, just put another black lid on the display."

Come on Weber, we need bone, slate, smoke, spring green.  Make it happen!

They probably sell more of those Q things. Are Crimson Kettles no longer being made for 2015???

They are not sold at Lowes

I'm not impressed with the Q colors this year. They CAN make bright red on those lids like they did for Ace last year. Plus I think Crimson should be a permanent color available everywhere if not bone or slate or wave blue.

I think Winz is becoming delirious from that AZ heat and doesn't know what he is saying..

I recently heard that part, if not the entire reason we weren't getting the same colors, from Weber,
as the rest of the world is because of California (nanny state) and their stupid rules about toxic, cancer
causing chemicals used to make certain colors, like for example the old red color.

The Q's colors are more of a satin finish than a gloss, if the only way we could get more colors in kettles was satin finish then I am not in on that.

I said something along that line to the gent that spoke of the color issue, I told him that when I think
of Weber kettles I think of shiny, glossy finishes not satin or mat finish and that prolly ANY of the
Euro colors in a glossy finish would sell like crazy..

Just my opinion but I think Weber is targeting the female marketing base with  all the new colors in the Q series.

The kettles... they're just so shiny and smooth. That being said I want a Weber made orange kettle!

@1911Ron

Ron, the paint got goofed up, first by banking too high of heat coals & then by putting a cheap plastic Weber cover on it during the summer......over 100 deg. & the clear coat wasn't quite cured all the way so it tacked to the inside of the cover......one of the 1st projects on the ticket is a re-paint on it........
