First cook on my newly acquired lemon (Norma Jean). A quick raid of the freezer turned up some Chicken Thighs. Time to get to work
Thawed the thighs and marinated them for a couple of hours in Italian dressing:

Braised the thighs for 45 minutes in a Dutch oven. Braising liquid was butter and chicken stock. Covered the thighs with Yardbird rub:

Removed the thighs from the braise and dusted them again with yardbird. Cooked another 30 minutes indirect heat:

Painted them up with some sauce (Stubbs, Mango jelly, honey, soy, apple cider vinegar) and put them back on for 15 minutes:

The Payoff. Moist chicken FULL of flavor. I may never eat another chicken breast again - thighs are where its at!

The many faces of Norma Jean. On the left, pre cook. On the right, all hot and bothered. Its hard to catch just how orange/red she turned on camera.

So I'm scrolling down, braising, OK, then grilled, OK he must be done but NO there was more action with Ms. Jean. And I can see why.
Tasty. (And so is that food.)
I'm a thigh man myself but have never thought to do it like this. Now I will!

Now that's what I call flashing some thigh! Norma Jean was born to cook!

Norma Jean looks stunning Winz, and the chicken... wow! The skin post-braise already has awesome color so that sauce must have just pushed it over the top.

Think the only way you can get the real orange is to get up underneath it.....
