I won't believe it works great until I see it's results. I think you could achieve the same results buy cutting the front out of a lid and raising up a pizza stone on it. I made this one a while back and it worked well. I just don't believe it worked nearly as well as Brians. He has it dialed with the thick reflective top to cook and brown the toppings to where it get's that leoparding.

First, the destruction of that yellow is disgusting.  Second, the problem with the kettle lid, is that it doesn't hold the heat.  It allows heat to pass though.  The reason for putting the cast iron on the top is to retain the heat.  You can also use another pizza stone on top.  It needs to be something that gets hot and holds heat.  Why the hell would you cut a hole, just lift the lid a little bit.  I understand if you just want to do some project, but why destroy this stuff?  Especially a classic.  I know he was to stupid to know it was a classic, but it looks like the work of a hack anyhow....

I have tried the Pizza oven several times - it will be in the stores (Europe) in March - and it really performs.
The construction gives around 350 degress (celcius) (662 F) in the oven which makes a perfect pizza in around 6 minutes.

I don't know if it will be introduced in US -  but I hope...

Stig, Stig, he's our man, he'll get us a euro Weber pizza pan!    I could not resist.

He did say he was the marketing director, maybe if it isnt agianst company policy he could get this and other colors of kettles at cost.  Then shipping could be reduced if any of the clubbers do business overseas, they could ride piggyback in a container coming over from Europe.

Well, it is Christmas time, I thought I would make a wish list too.

Oh, I missed that. I got the idea from the Little Black Egg project because another member here asked me to make him something that he could leave down and slide pies in and out of without lifting the lid, thus keeping the fire roaring over the dome inside the way the Pizza Hacker does. It worked pretty well, I may make another the next time I have an extra lid around, probably with an 18 lid though. BTW, the one I cut had a major dent in it.

Yep, good thinking! That weber pizza pan sounds like a winner now. I just want to see it in action. Maybe Stig could video one for us. :)

Nice job on the lid conversion.  I seems it would hold the heat better than the euro model.

My ffriend Ray ( better known as " Hell Fire Grill" )  made this with an UDS.....

Keeps the Weber lid intact & as you can see, develops plenty of heat......
