Title: Questions on painting a OTG ash catcher.
Post by: dengland on October 11, 2014, 01:55:29 PM
I'm seriously considering painting my ash catcher. I have high temp paint and some self etching primer in the garage. Do I need to get some kind of special primer or do you guys think the self etching primer I have will be good enough. I don't see anywhere on the can where it gives a maximum temperature range other than storage.

I painted the ash catcher on my performer with self priming Rustoleum it has been fine. I don't think that the ash catcher should get very hot.

I have painted one.  Not a perfect match, but, pretty close.
It doesn't match once the kettle gets hot.  ??? :-\
