From a 1959 Ad. I bet it did not run for long!:

Indoors?? No smoke or flames??? Hmmmmm
-
Weber literature at one point included the notion that you could cook indoors. Different times, to be sure.
-
The 1958 brochure says that too. They MIGHT have been referring to the "Weber Fireplace" but then again, backyard BBQ was still in its infancy back in the late 1950s.. I can imagine someone lighting their grill out back in the winter then rolling it inside the screen porch or garage after a while...
-
I think they referred to using the standard kettle inside the fireplace - maybe without the legs.
-
Maybe, but then why have this one?

I am all for that "Bust-Proof Porcelain Finish"

It's a solid-triangle 56/57 kettle in a '59 ad.

Still trying to wrap my mind around no smoke and no flames.
Tell me boy, what is the riddle of steel?
