Title: Anniversary Dinner
Post by: Winz on August 04, 2014, 08:13:11 PM
Mrs. Winz and I celebrated 30 years of marriage today.  Looking forward to the next 30 (if she'll have me!)

Decided a nice dinner on the deck was the right idea.

Beginnings of a grilled vegetable salad.  Bisbee gets the call:

Some cedar planked salmon coated in olive oil and dry rubbed:

All plated up.  Salmon, roasted veggies with balsamic vinaigrette, Caesar salad with homemade croutons and dressing.

Creme Brûlée for dessert.  Next time I am making this on the kettle as well.....

Cheers,

Congratulations Jeff and Shelly. I can see both of you together for 30+ more years. One of the nicest couple I have ever met. Great cook. Food looks delicious.

Congrats Winz!  30yrs is truly an accomplishment.
Dinner looks amazing.  Bisbee and the salmon matches the salmon/copper tones of the Rose.  Sinskey?  Something from Bandol?  Man, I need to drink more wine!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Winz on a huge milestone! It takes something really special to last 30 years, and what a way to celebrate!

I bet cooking up wonderful meals like that has something to do with why she still keeps you around ;) ;D

Again, congrats!

Thank you all for the very kind words and well-wishes.  I consider myself a very lucky man to have found the right partner early in my life.  She is a saint!

Salad - Actually an Amador County Barbara Rose.  When you are ready to drink more wine, let me know.  Mrs Winz owns/runs a wine shop and has quite the palate.

Amen to that!  Family dinners have always been a big part of our lives - and a great excuse for me to buy more stuff  :) (Webers, cast iron, kitchen knives, etc, etc).

K - Well, at least the salad is a keeper...  It has taken me a while (15 years), but that is one recipe I have tuned to "just the way we like it".

The 15 years of fine tuning a salad recipe is WHY you're a keeper......get it?
