The wife just got back from a business trip in Italy. I'm always asking her to bring me stuff back from Europe, because they have all the cool colors. This time, when she asked me to take out her passport, I placed a piece of paper that had the addresses of the Weber dealers within 10 miles of her hotel. Well it paid off! She actually put a friggin SJ in her luggage and brought me back a bone one.

They're a little pricey there...95 Euros

Now I have to figure out how to get her to bring back a 57cm Blue Wave OTG...
Way to go Wife! I love the charcoal grate on these. Please explain how the drip pan and scoop work when you get it figured out. I have always wondered.
dude your wife is awesome.
I'm really jealous, kudos to your wife. Make sure you return the favor and give her a bone sometime too. :o
Wow! Nice work by the wife and cool looking SJ! I really like that color - very classy.
That charcoal grate is so much more functional when using lump - the finer pattern means less falling through and less waste.
Congrats!

Amazing wife!!!
And can somebody tell me WHY we can't get that charcoal grate in the US?? >:(
(I'm not even going to 'go there' about why we can't get these neat colors!) ::)
That's a bunch of great design improvements, for sure. And your wife is amazing!

Very nice Ant, she's a keeper (the wife too!)
Now that's what I'm talking about, great grill and bride.
Very nice smokey joe! Definite score! ;D
Awesome!
Very cool!
Very cool Tatooedant!
One thing I do regret is not bringing back any Weber gear from all my business trips to Europe and Africa during the last 3 years. I made 5 trips to Europe & Africa spanning 8 different countries and I didn't even think to buy any Weber stuff to bring back for my enjoyment. Brought back some very hard to find Nikes and Air Jordan's, but nothing Weber. Kicking myself now after seeing your post.

Wow, I never knew that. Ironically, I have an SJG here that needs a charcoal grate, and also need to place an order with them sometime soon for some other items. Hmmm....
My second post on this thread - that bone color is very, very cool.
Does anyone know if that style of charcoal grate is also used on the 22.5 (57 cm) models? If so, I have to get a couple.
Winz
Love the bone too - would love it even more in a 26.75! I've seen these in my travels abroad too, and next time might have to carry one home for myself. Of course, you could always pack more than one, but the ride to the airport may be kind of slow:

^LOLwut?
I need a sky blue one.
Now THAT is an awesome score! Nice to see what Weber can do, but kinda sad they don't do it here. Of course, they only retail for $35 here, so I'm not too sad.

It's $19!!!!!!!! :o
Thanks everyone! Yeah, I'm hoping this keeps up....she earned her keep this month.. 8)
The one huge advantage we in the US have over the International markets is the price. Weber grills are very expensive in most parts of Europe. To put it into perspective, last week I think the euro was almost $1.30 US. That grill, although brand new, cost 95 Euros, which is about $130 US. A black one in the US costs $30. Although they have cooler stuff, they pay the price.
However, that cool charcoal grate gives me an idea. If they come in larger sizes, I can totally have my wife fill a suitcase with several of each size. Who's in?
If anybody is interested, I have a person willing to ship the euro color smokey joes to USA.
Joe+Shipping will be $200 USD. PM me if you're interested.
I can totally understand the price difference with the US dollar being so weak over there. UK and Switzerland are the worst for exchange rates. I once spent about $45 on 2 McD combo meals in Geneva so I can only imagine what the 22.5" MT costs over there.

And don't forget shipping costs, taxes, lower volume, etc.
Very nice pick up! I love that colour. I have a blue wave one sitting in Edinburgh at a friends place that I hope to pick up in the next few months. Might have to see about getting a bone one.
