It's a good one!
Great feature...congrats 1buckie!
Great read Ken! You my friend are by far one of the better people and cooks on this site!!!
Simply awesome!
I first met Ken on the Smoke Ring. He is the reason I cook almost exclusively on a Weber kettle now.
Great inspiration. :D
Thanks for the write-up, Lawrence! :) :)
great write up and further insight into the life of 1buckie
i love seeing your big cooks
and your weird ways (to us in oz )
far KEN oath
super cool read. great pics of your cooks buckie! ;D
Congratulations Ken!
When I was just lurking here your cooks and your sense of humor were a big part of why I joined in. You have helped this noob out many times. Thank you! ;)
Classic piece - one for the ages. Thanks for being you Ken!
Marty
Great read! Ken appreciate all you contribute to this great site.
Greg
Excellent feature. 1Buckie was one of the first to welcome me to this site. As someone who's always willing to share his experience with others he's an important piece of what makes this club special. Congrats 1Buckie - glad you're here.
Great read, Ken! You're one of the kindest and most knowledgeable people out there and a huge inspiration when it comes to my cooks. I still wonder if we are related somehow. We Hill's are all over the place. I do have some Cali relatives that I haven't met so its wide open. Keep up the great work!! 8)
Buckies sense of humor & everything he does on a kettle is superb. What a great asset to our community.
He is the king of bacon wrapped __________! Man, that dude has gone through some pork belly in his life. :)
I feel for the poor bastard who has to follow that write-up as the 2nd featured member of '14 lol

We're taking nominations for the poor bastard!
Congrats Ken "Buckie" and what a great write up! Definitely one of the "go-to guys" if you have questions about cooking anything! Still waiting to see that avocado Sequoia get fired up!
First off, thanks to Lawerence (PBE Gummi Bear) for pestering me just exactly right right amount to sit down & do this !!!!
You're the greatest for helping out with all you do for the Club !!!!!
AND..................
Thanks, Tattoo !!!!
& thanks for doing your part here, also !!!!
Thanks, Terry !!!!
You've inspired me to value & take better care of my stable, so I hope whatever I do can contribute !!!!
Thanks, Mark !!!!
Glad you're here......I just knew you would fit right in.....what I didn't see comin' was all the extra kettles & fab work that you've done & shared.........thanks for that !!!!!
Thanks, Golly !!!!
Little do you know, you're one of my heroes......along w/ Hogsey & the rest of the OZ crew !!!!
Thanks, MAX !!!!
Also way appreciate your contributions here, too !!!!
Thanks, JC !!!!
Glad to have helped lure you onto the bus & glad you're here !!!!!
Thanks, Marty !!!!
And thanks esp. for all the extras you put forth to make this a hunk-a-bunch of a better place !!!!!
Thanks, Greg !!!!
You're another who has helped get me to value more what an incredible thing the humble Weber kettle is !!!!!
Thanks, Weber MD !!!!
You're one of a number of folks I think of when the terms "excitement" & "WKC" collide !!!!
Thanks, Craig !!!!
Not impossible that we're somehow related.....the wife's maiden name was Hill ( from Oklahoma).....we got divorced, still together, get along better than ever before & her name is still Hill !!!
Thanks for your stupendous efforts in the historical department.....don't know what we'd do without you !!!!
Thanks, BMan !!!!
Thanks also for your help to other members & great attitude around the campfire here !!!!
Lawerence, I'm mostly a cooker.....Hank is a Cooker & a Looker (restorer), so my vote is to get GL Rasmussen, Brian, Jeff, or anyone of the Huge Collection Types (H. C. T.'s) to be next up so we can burrow into the thinking & planning & luck it takes to gather the rarities....... 8)
Thanks, Jeff !!!!
we'll get it going pretty soon.....I've got some wood sent out to slab up & send to Brian for handles finally, so when I can get that fixed, it'll be a go !!!

Congrats Buckie! I can't think of a more well-deserving forum member for all of your contributions to this great place!
Thanks, SAX !!!!
You know, I was thinking that featuring folks like this & the "Putting a Name With a Face" thread are the kinds of things that really make WKC different from your average forum......that and all the classic kettle stuff............. 8)
Well done and well deserved!
Great story/write up buckie....well deserved. It highlights the simplicity and enjoyment of grilling.
Thanks, TBS !!!!
This is a great place & I'm proud to be able to add in a small part !!!!
Thanks, Stu / G !!!!
It's an enjoyable pastime & I'm glad you & everyone else is here in such an additive fashion !!!
Thanks for your own 'no small contributions' also, fellow KettleHeads !!!!
Rest in peace, my friend.

So hard to read about his passing, such an awesome asset to our community here and a grate and crazy guy !! RIP
@1buckie
Say it ain't so!
1Buckie's cooks were definitely inspirational for me as well. My favorite quote:
"The basic thing for me is I just love to feed people & see them really enjoy it !!!"
I'll be smoking a fatty and grilling up some ABT's soon in honor of this legendary Grillfella.
Godspeed, Ken. You'll be missed by the WKC.
Never got to "meet" or interact with Ken and for that I am sad. I am grateful that his posts will live on. I have already begun to dive into them. Seemed like an awesome guy!
Is the putting a face to the name forum post gone? I can't get any links to it to work.
We should get that one going again. 1buckie always seemed to point people to that thread!
SAD
Turds, Yes!
To this day I still make his sausage w/ BBQ sauce he used to pass around at the meetups
His use of the original Weber wok kept me on my toes using mine.
Thanks buckie
:(

This was the photo I remember of 1buckie. I think he was grinding really, really hot peppers. He was a colorful character and an amazing grillfella.

That's awesome. Seemed like he would have been a grate and fun guy to hang with.

Godspeed Ken.
We will miss you!
That sucks!!! When I first joined here, Buckie's posts were my favourite to read. Always loved his avatar. RIP Buckie.
Sad to hear RIP Buckie! If you want inspiration on using an 18" kettle look for his posts.
RIP ole buddy, you are an inspiration to many.
Damn that sucks. Fuck 2020 man. Met Ken when he acquired a logo for me a while back. Took me on a tour of his grill sanctuary. Really nice, sweet dude. Swear he had about 30 plain ol black 22s lol
