This is a Patent Pending older model. Looks to be in nice shape.

that thing is pretty nifty!
Dutch oven and a weber kettle all in one.
Looks like the lid is a pan.

That's unique. So the small grate is the charcoal grate and the larger one is the cooking grate? Am I missing something? Where does the vent looking thing go?
That looks like the bottom vent, must have come loose at some point

The Cook N Kettle has been restored. Not bad for a 60+ year old barbecue cooker...

Nice job on the restore, it looks good!!!
Nice job again Harris. Does anyone know if those ever came with some sort of ash pan?
Compliments seems really new, but you have a time machine and you came back to buy a new one..really cool!
Looks great! what did you use to restore the cast iron?
* I soaked the lid and body for 6 hours in a mixture of water and white vinegar to remove any rust.
* I then rinsed with water
* The lid also serves as a cast iron skillet. I seasoned it like any cast iron skillet. I coated in vegetable shortening and put in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. I repeated this process 3 times.
* I seasoned the body too.
* I painted the cart and outside of the body with VHT Flameproof High Heat Coating.
* Did not touch the lid (skillet) with any type of paint.
That is very cool Stephen!
I had never heard of the Cook N Kettle before joining here. Now it and a vintage Hasty-Bake have become my grails.:)
By Josh Steven, you really demonstrate what one can do if he sets his mind to it 8)
Well done sir!
Wow, that thing is amazing! Never heard of them yet alone seen one before 8)
Ok, that thing is really awesome! Even more awesome is your restoration! That thing looks brilliant! Can't wait to see results of cooking (if you will be cooking on this).
Yes, the Cook N Kettle will be in the cooking rotation starting this spring. :)
