Title: a trade with weber oz for their showroom
Post by: Golly on October 22, 2013, 12:20:08 AM
Its will be sad day when i see her go

well after kirsty from weber customer service joined from my referral on the aussiebqforum to join the WKC and had no luck finding an immaculate MBH redhead that anyone was willing to part with,

??? :o :o

i offered my O code 1992 redhead which has never used to weber oz for display in their newly renovated showroom

at first they asked if i would sell it but as a true grillfella would do i said id prefer to do a trade  ;D

the response was what would you trade it for?

i cheekly replied cough cough gas assist performer  :P :o

a short while later i received a reply of sure no worries how about a 2005 sage performer, but first we need pics of your redhead

pics sent straight away and the next day the deal was done 8)

the performer is in transit and a weber technician will call me and deliver and assemble then carefully wrap and pack the redhead

as i could never cook on this kettle
sometimes things just need to be in a museum  for everyone to see
im hoping to see pics in her new home
also with doing this trade i hope this gains us aussies (hogsy and me) a valuable relationship with weber australia in restoring old grills to their former glory with the help of supplying parts at an appropriate price
im sure i will shed a tear  :'( when she goes but knowing she will be well cared for

That's cool... 8). Did you ask if your name could be displayed on the description plaque in the museum?  Would be kinda cool if it said "from the collection of Golly..." On the bottom

Congrats golly. Its pretty cool to think people will be seeing your grill in a museum type setting. Think of all the weber cs greenies who will be seeing it and learning valuable weber history. Well done!

Good trade imo. There are more of those reds out there for you, and that sage is sweet. Send them pics of GGG or "Weber museum Central Coast NSW Australia"

Great work mate. The sage performer is a worthy replacement.

Great story and I'm glad the rep got her redhead. I found it interesting that they are still making the sage out there. That sage is almost an avocado performer.  8)

Nice work Golly although I am a little concerned with the way your collection is headed , first the yellow , now the sage performer, what's next more MBH kettles and god help me if you get a taste for coloured SJ's
I hope your not getting all Single White Female on me?? Although you would be doing well to match me for charm and charisma :D
