Title: Beach Club Weber kettle Rescue
Post by: tattooedant on August 27, 2013, 11:34:20 AM
Its the time of the year where the beach clubs on Long Island begin to close down for the season. Luckily I have a buddy who grabs any Webers that make into the garbage at his club. Here's what I got today, but from what he tells me there are some colored ones he's got his eye on that he thinks were abandoned also... I'll dig out some parts and see if we can get a few more seasons out of this bad boy.

Had a time getting that chain off with the dull ass blade I had...

What's the best way to get that rust off the bottom by the leg sockets? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

0000 steel wool and a water and vinegar solution maybe?

You won't be able to do anything more where the paint is actually gone, but the steel wool will make it look a little better.

Try something that neutralizes rust. At least it won't get worse. you can touch it up withs ome high heat black. If the grill is kept out of the water, it should last a few more years..

I can see it alredy.. a little stand at the end of the boardwalk.. Used Webers for sale or rent..guaranteed to last through the summer.. Trade in programs or even daily rentals..
Hey, this could work!   8)

That's what I'm thinking. I'll just sell them back their old one next year!
