Title: More from the Mountains
Post by: ccoiv on August 14, 2013, 10:34:44 AM
My family loves bbq chicken so a few weeks ago I decided to try a slightly new twist on this favorite. For this cook I chose to cook 4 whole birds. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/ygereryj.jpg)
Spatchcocked them and dry rubbed. 2 on the performer and the other 2 went on my 22 OTG.

Boy sometimes grilling can be thirsty work(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/ubunu4eb.jpg)
Pulled off the grill at 165 and let rest for about 15 minute (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/sajusena.jpg)
Asparagus for our side (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/mybytuby.jpg)
Shredded like I would a butt drizzled with homemade sauce and served on a whole grain ciabatta roll

Great looking birds! I'm thinking of doing one soon, haven't tried a spatchcock chicken in many years.

Thanks everyone. Spatchcocking is my favorite way to fix chicken. At least it is until I find a roti for the right price
