Title: One side of the kettle charcoal goes out
Post by: Chris44 on August 15, 2026, 11:17:33 AM
Hi All.....I have a problem so can some please help as I am struggling with this! ☹️

I have quite a new Webber kettle with the lift up guards on the fuel rack.  I guess this means you can doe indirect cooking with the two sides of light charcoal.

However the problem I have is that the right side either does not get very hot or indeed it just goes out.
I just can figure out why that is.  The fuel rack is central on the grill as is the food rack and the lid vent is in the middle as well!
Anyone got any views as to what could be happening or what I'm doing wrong?

Many thanks
Chris

If top and bottom vents are 100% open, fully lit briquettes should not be fizzling out. Maybe your unlit briquettes were damp/wet?
