Hey ya'll. Its time to do a full restoration of my Performer grill which i have owed since new in 2000.
I am good on everything except the the ash can setup. This model has the crossbar welded to the ash can rim. And the One Touch is gone.
I saw in the threads a few years ago that none of these are available (7409 is the on touch part number) New one is 7443. I cant weld steel to aluminum in my limited welding skills. Any way to get this setup OR a non NASA workaround lol.
#7443 is for the 18 inch kettles. Some people had luck using the newer style #7444 sweeps with the old ash catcher bar by just discarding the H washer.
If that does not work for you you can just find a way to hold up the ash can rim without using the bar. This link should help you out. (https://weberkettleclub.com/converting-a-weber-ots-to-otg/)
The sweeps are currently on sale for $14.99 at home depot.
Maybe @JEBIV can help source your part(s). He helped with mine -

Are you replacing the two casters? If so, what are you using? I want to replace mine, but not with the direct replacement (https://www.weber.com/US/en/parts--et--support/replacement-parts/gas-grill-parts/gas-replacement-parts/casters/6414.html). I want something like a 2" or 3" rollerblade wheel with a brake.
